Under the guidance of Sharon Graci, I assistant directed The College of Charleston’s 2023 production of Men on Boats. This was my first look at a professional’s take on the process, and was a beautiful example of the ensemble work that I would begin to employ in my directing. Due to Sharon’s style of directing, an actor-driven blocking style and focus on playful repetition, I was able to get my hands dirty in a couple of scenes, providing me with much needed experience in working with a dedicated cast and crew.
