“Who honored me

by giving their works”

- Sappho, translated by Anne Carson

My Director’s note from the production: Truthfully, I believe technology is ruining the sacredness of time. As I barrel towards graduation at lightning speed, I am always looking for ways to slow down. I stop to think every day about how many times I’m looking at my phone, waiting for the next action item, and I realize that constant anticipation is a side effect of everything existing in the palm of my hand. This production has shown me how important it is to disconnect and be a part of a community where I can make art with people I love! I think this play is so special, and with the talent of the cast and crew, the message of Dead Man’s Cell Phone has aged like fine wine in our modern era.
